Coaches Are Set To Host Camps & Clinics

March 12, 2013

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The weather is warming up, and with the increased sunshine numerous sports programs and coaches are preparing for clinics and camp sessions scheduled to take place on campus in the coming months.

To kick things off, the men’s and women’s soccer team coaches will be among the featured clinicians at this year’s National Soccer Coaching Seminar, taking place Friday and Saturday March 15-16 across campus. The cost to register is $140, payable with cash or by check, made payable to the University of Notre Dame.

Coaches Randy Waldrum and Bobby Clark will be joined by International Hall of Fame coach Bob Gansler and the current USA U-20 Women’s National Team coach Steve Swanson. Clinic participants will have the chance to receive an NSCAA Professional Development Certificate, participate in an informal coaches’ reception and receive a seminar book complete with session outlines and notes. For more information on the soccer clinic, click here or contact Notre Dame assistant women’s soccer coach Dawn Greathouse at (574) 631-5870 or greathouse.1@nd.edu.

Also hosting a coaches’ clinic this spring is Home Depot Coach of the Year award winner Brian Kelly and his staff. They will be joined by feature speakers such as former Nevada head coach Chris Ault, current New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, former Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Sam Wyche and former Irish All-American offensive lineman Andy Heck, who currently serves as an offensive line coach with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Clinic participants will have the opportunity to watch the Fighting Irish football team practice twice, and can take advantage of chalk-talk sessions depicting different coaching techniques and styles. Coaches’ socials will be held on Thursday and Friday evening, with a guided tour of the Notre Dame Stadium locker room also included in the schedule of events.

The clinic, set for April 11-13, is already filling up fast and has few spots left. The cost to participate is $65 per coach, or $50 per coach for groups of at least six coaches pre-registering. Walk-up registration is $80. To register, click here. The full release on the clinic and its activities can be found here. Further questions about clinic activities can be directed to Notre Dame director of football operations Chad Klunder at (574) 631-7475 or cklunder@nd.edu.

A myriad of camp sessions are also scheduled on campus during the summer months, with the first such session being a sold-out Notre Dame football fantasy camp, running June fourth through the seventh. Proceeds from the annual fantasy camp benefit the Monogram Club.

Camp season will also be gearing up on-campus for numerous other varsity programs. With plenty of options for children of all ages, Notre Dame Summer camps provide a unique and fun opportunity to embrace the Fighting Irish spirit.
