Bio

Nick Siergiej (pronounced SIR-gay) joined the University of Notre Dame in 2008. He served as the hockey programs Director of Operations for fourteen seasons and transitioned into the Name, Image, Likeness, and Ideas (NILI) office in 2022. In his current role, Siergiej oversees the 4 for Forever Marketplace in the NILI office, onboarding student-athletes and managing the relationship with our marketplace vendor. In addition to the marketplace, he is responsible for the daily operations of the NILI office. Responsibilities include recruiting presentations, liaison with campus partners, and a staff and student-athlete resource for NIL questions.

Siergiej joined Notre Dame at the beginning of the 2008-09 campaign after three seasons as the director of hockey operations at the University of Minnesota Duluth. In his operations roles, Siergiej oversaw all aspects of the team’s operations, including travel, daily operations, filming and editing games, and practices to create, maintain, and manage a complete statistical and video library for the Notre Dame coaching staff. Starting with the 2021-22 season, he also serves as the team’s administrator.

Siergiej has also served USA Hockey as Team USA’s video coach at the 2016 World Junior Championship (Helsinki, Finland), the 2020 World Junior Championship (Ostrava and Trinec, Czech Republic), and the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Breclav, Czech Republic, and Piestany, Slovakia.

A native of Eagle River, Wisconsin, Siergiej joined the Minnesota Duluth hockey program in 2006 after spending four years at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where he also served as the student director of hockey operations for the Division III power Falcons. With the Falcons, Siergiej handled all the video-related duties, including game breakdowns and pre-scouting, while assisting the coaching staff with various administrative duties.

A 2006 graduate of Wisconsin-River Falls, Siergiej earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and a master’s degree in education from Minnesota in 2008.

A Northland Pines High School graduate in Eagle River, he was a four-year letter winner in golf. As a senior, he was team captain, earning the team’s most valuable player honors. While at Northland Pines, Siergiej was the student equipment manager and administrative assistant for the boy’s hockey team.

Siergiej and his wife, Dawn, a Notre Dame women’s soccer assistant coach, were married in May 2014 and reside in South Bend.
