Maureen McFall begins her first year as a volunteer assistant coach for both the Notre Dame women[apos]s and men[apos]s swimming and diving teams. McFall was a sprint freestyle swimmer for four years on the club level while attending the University of Colorado at Boulder from 1989-93. With the Irish, she will help with meet management, in addition to recruiting and organizing the women[apos]s heart monitor program.

After graduating from Colorado in 1993, McFall worked in the private sector for Grubb & Ellis, a commercial real estate company in Denver, Colo., from 1993-96, before returning to her home state of California. From 1996-97, she worked in the Banner Blue Division of Broderbund software company before working at Robertson Stephens and Company, an investment banking firm from 1997-99. McFall also has been heavily involved in the Leukemia Society[apos]s [quote]Team-in-Training[quote] program as a mentor and volunteered for the Power Lunch reading program for children, Habitat for Humanity and the Make A Wish Foundation.

An avid triathlete, McFall participated in the triathlon swimming program at the University of San Francisco from 1996-99. She is currently training to compete in the 2000 Wildflower Triathlon, a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bicycle ride and a 13.1 mile run, in Lake San Antonio, Calif.

In addition to her duties with the swimming and diving program, McFall is employed as a project coordinator in the College of Business Administration in the masters of science and accountancy program at Notre Dame.

Born December 1, 1971, McFall was married to her husband Matt, a first-year MBA student at Notre Dame, on May 22, 1999, in her hometown of Orinda, Calif.
