CCHA Media Day Set For September 27 In Detroit

Notre Dame, Ind. – The start of the 2006-07 college hockey season is less that two weeks away and now hockey fans can get a start on the season by taking in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association’s Media Day live via the internet on Wednesday, Sept., 27 from Joe Louis Arena. The media day festivities begin at 12:00 noon.

This year’s proceedings will be streamed live on the Internet at the CCHA’s official website, www.ccha.com. Internet users must have Windows Media Player installed on their computer in order to access the press conference feed. “College hockey fans and the media will have free audio and video access to the insights of all 12 CCHA head coaches and preseason comments from CCHA Commissioner Tom Anastos”, states CCHA Communications Director Fred Pletsch.

The entire press conference will also be recorded and archived on www.ccha.com within 24 hours of its conclusion for fans to view.

Announcements scheduled for the event include the presentation of the third annual CCHA Preseason All-Conference Teams (First and Second) and the release of the conference television schedule for the 2006-07 season. The traditional preseason Media Poll and preseason Coaches’ Poll will also be released.

Coach Jeff Jackson and his Notre Dame Fighting Irish will take to the ice on college hockey’s common starting date – Saturday, Sept. 30 – at the Joyce Center. The Irish have practices scheduled at 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday, Oct. 1 practice times are set for 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
