NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Brent Moberg, director of compliance the last three years at Northern Illinois University and a 2000 University of Notre Dame graduate, has been named director of compliance for the Notre Dame athletics department.

He will be part of Notre Dame’s athletic compliance team that works to ensure compliance with NCAA and conference rules. He begins his new duties July 29.

Moberg’s background includes experiences as a compliance intern at Marquette University (2004-05), a legal intern for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater athletic director’s office (fall 2002) and an intercollegiate athletics consultant for Carr Sports Associates, Inc., in Gainesville, Fla. (spring 2009). During the spring of 2009, Moberg served as an adjunct professor of sport management at Northern Illinois.

After graduating from Notre Dame with a bachelor of arts degree and majors in pre-professional studies and anthropology, Moberg spent a year in medical school at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. He went on to earn both a law degree and an MBA in business administration from Marquette in 2004. Moberg received a Sports Law Certificate from the National Sports Law Institute of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. (2004) and is a member of the bar in the state of Wisconsin.

Born April 1, 1977, Moberg is originally from Rockford, Ill.
