Both Games Of Notre Dame-Michigan State Hockey Series To Be Televised

Notre Dame, Ind. – The Notre Dame hockey team faces Michigan State in a home-and-home series this weekend, Dec. 10-11. Both games of the series will be televised live.

On Friday night, Dec. 10, the Fighting Irish will play host to the Spartans at the Joyce Center in an 8:05 p.m. game. That game will be televised nationally on College Sports Television’s (CSTV) national game of the week package. Veteran NHL broadcaster Mike Emrick and Billy Jaffe will handle the play-by-play and color commentary. The CSTV broadcast is available in on DirecTV channel 610. In South Bend, the game will be picked up live by WHME-TV Channel 46 (Channel 11 on Comcast Cable in South Bend).

Saturday night, Dec. 11, Notre Dame travels to Munn Arena in East Lansing, Mich., for a 7:05 p.m. game. Comcast Local from Detroit will televise the game. In South Bend, the game can be seen live on Comcast Cable channel 3. Please note the change in channels due to Comcast’s reconfiguration of its broadcast channels that began on Dec. 8. Ben Holden and Lyle Phair will handle the broadcasting duties for Comcast Local. Comcast Sports Net Chicago (Channel 37) will televise the games on tape delay.

Notre Dame comes into the weekend series with a 3-8-4 overall record and a 2-7-3 mark in CCHA play. Michigan State is 7-8-1 on the year with a 4-6-0 record in the CCHA.

The Michigan State series is the final hockey action for the Irish in the 2004 portion of the schedule. Notre Dame returns to play on Jan. 1-2 when the Irish play host to the Rensselaer Engineers from Troy, N.Y.
