An Evening With Notre Dame Basketball Set To Take Place On April 14

March 13, 2014

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Tickets are now on sale for the third annual An Evening With Notre Dame Basketball. This year’s event, presented by St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, will take place on Monday, April 14 beginning at 5:00 pm, and once again will give Fighting Irish fans an all-access and behind-the-scenes look into the Irish basketball program.

Fans should note that this is a date change from the one previously announced during Irish basketball games this season. The original date of the event was set to take place on Wednesday, April 16, but needed to be changed to accommodate plans for two senior members of the Irish team — Eric Atkins and Garrick Sherman — who were invited to participate in a postseason invitational tournament that conflicted with the previously announced date.

This special evening for fans of all ages has proven to be quite popular the last two years as it offers a special and unique look into the Fighting Irish men’s basketball program as well as behind-the-scenes access to many of the team’s facilities and Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. The affair has been a change in format from the postseason banquet events of seasons past as it now offers a casual and intimate setting where those in attendance have the opportunity to spend time with their favorite Irish players as well as having their questions answered by team members and the Irish coaching staff.

Among the facilities included in the all-access tour for fans are the men’s basketball locker room, team room, coaches’ offices, the auditorium where film sessions and postgame news conferences are held as well as Notre Dame’s auxiliary practice facility, more affectionately known as “The Pit.”

Fans also will get a chance to see Club Naimoli where pregame receptions are held before every home basketball game. New to the tour this year is the Fighting Irish Digital Media Show Control Room, which controls some of the video effects seen in the arena during basketball games. Coaches and players will be stationed at these various locations and fans will have the opportunity to pose for pictures as well as get autographs.

One of the features added to this year’s event that will certainly prove to be popular is a photo booth where fans will be able to have their pictures taken with members of the Irish team.

A reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres will be available in Club Naimoli beginning at 5:00 pm, along with a silent auction of unique items. Proceeds from the event will benefit the scholarship fund of the Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley.

At 7:00 pm, the Awards Program will take place in Heritage Hall. During the awards program, fans will have the opportunity to hear from Coach Brey and select members of the Irish squad as well as watch video tributes to the team highlighting the 2013-14 campaign.

Tickets are $40 for adults and $15 for fans under 18 years and can be purchased by calling the Notre Dame Ticket Office at 574-631-7356 or by stopping by the ticket office at Gate 9 of Purcell Pavilion. Click here to purchase your tickets online.
