Alex Steeves Named Big Ten’s Second Star of the Week

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — After helping lead Notre Dame to a weekend sweep at Ohio State, Fighting Irish junior forward Alex Steeves has been named the Big Ten’s Second Star of the Week (Feb. 9).

Steeves and the Irish posted a 6-1 win in game one of their weekend series at Ohio State, with Steeves scoring a goal and adding three assists for a four-point game. 

Then in Notre Dame’s 8-1 game two victory, the Hobey Baker Fan Vote nominee posted another three-assist game. Steeves has now recorded at least one point in 15 of Notre Dame’s 20 games and he has an active five-game point streak (4-6-10).

For the season, Steeves has posted a team-high 10 goals to go along with 12 assists and a team-best 22 points. In 16 Big Ten games, his 20 points (9-11-20) rank tied for third, while his nine goals rank second.

In his career, Steeves has skated in 95 career games while scoring 28 goals and adding 31 assists for 59 points.
