NOTRE DAME, Ind. Rising junior Alex Steeves was named a 2019-20 American Hockey Coaches’ Association (AHCA) Krampade All-American Scholar, the organization announced on Tuesday (July 21).

An Accountancy major in the Mendoza College of Business, Steeves led the Irish with 28 points last season and his 28 points on 11 goals and 17 assists all marked career-high totals for the Eden Prairie, Minnesota native. Steeves has earned Dean’s List honors four times and he was named a Big Ten All-Academic team honoree in each of his first two seasons with the Irish.

American Hockey Coaches’ Association All-American Scholar honors were awarded for a fourth consecutive season in 2019-20, recognizing NCAA Division I players who compiled exceptional results in the classroom. Due to the effects of Covid-19, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year’s honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for the fall semester and participated in 40% of their school’s games.
