2019-20 Hockey Schedule Announced

Notre Dame will open the regular season at home against Air Force on Oct. 11

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Fighting Irish hockey team announced its 2019-20 schedule, which includes 19 home games beginning with a matchup against Air Force on Friday, Oct. 11 at the Compton Family Ice Arena.

Notre Dame will play 24 regular-season Big Ten games beginning with a road series at Minnesota on Nov. 1-2.

In non-conference action, the Irish will play series against Air Force (home), Lake Superior State (home), Bowling Green (home-and-home), Boston College (home-and-home) and Western Michigan (home-and-home).

Following the regular season, which ends with a home series against Michigan State on Feb. 28-29, Notre Dame will turn its attention to the playoffs.

The 2020 Big Ten Tournament will once again feature a three-weekend format with all games taking place on the campus of the higher-seeded teams. The tournament will open March 6-8 with three best-of-three quarterfinal series, as the second-, third- and fourth-seeded teams will each host a series. The top-seeded team will have a bye to the single-elimination semifinals, which are scheduled for Saturday, March 14. The highest-seeded team remaining after the semifinals will host a championship game scheduled for Saturday, March 21.

The Fighting Irish, who have won the Big Ten Tournament on home ice each of the last two seasons, also carry a four-year NCAA Tournament appearance streak into 2019-20.

The 2020 NCAA Regionals will take place March 27-29 in Worcester, Massachusetts (Northeast Regional), Loveland, Colorado (West Regional), Albany, New York (East Regional) and Allentown, Pennsylvania (Midwest Regional). The 2020 Frozen Four will be played on April 9 7 11 at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
