  • Eleven former University of Notre Dame football players worked out at the annual Fighting Irish Football Pro Day today at the Guglielmino Athletics Complex, Loftus Sports Center and LaBar Practice Complex.
  • Height and weight measurements, vertical jump, broad jump and bench press were all conducted at Haggar Fitness Complex within the Guglielmino Complex.
  • The 40-yard dash, pro agility (20-yard shuttle), 60-yard shuttle, three-cone drill and position-specific drills all occurred on Meyo Field at Loftus Sports Center with kicking activities occurring at the LaBar Practice Complex.
  • Players worked out in front of representatives from 28 NFL teams.
  • Kyle Brindza, DaVaris Daniels, Jake Golic, Andrew Hendrix, Ethan Johnson, Ben Koyack, Cam McDaniel, Kendall Moore, Cody Riggs, Justin Utupo and Alex Welch all participated in the Pro Day. Koyack, McDaniel, Moore and Utupo were the only players to take part in all drills. Daniels only skipped the bench press, while Johnson only skipped the 60-yard shuttle. Golic, Hendrix and Welch only did position drills.
  • Cody Riggs, who was not selected to participate in the NFL Combine, posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.45 seconds. It would have ranked as the seventh-fastest 40-yard time by a defensive back at this year’s NFL Combine. Riggs’ time was just .01 off the third-fastest 40-yard time by a defensive back.
  • Riggs’ 40-yard time today was better than four of Mike Mayock’s top-five cornerbacks’ times at the combine (Jalen Collins, LSU; Marcus Peters, Washington; Kevin Johnson, Wake Forest; P.J. Williams, Florida State).
  • Cam McDaniel, who was not selected to participate in the NFL Combine, recorded a three-cone drill time of 6.78 seconds, which would have ranked as the best time by a running back at this year’s NFL Combine. McDaniel bested the likes of Ameer Abdullah of Nebraska (6.79), Javorius Allen of USC (6.96), Melvin Gordon of Wisconsin (7.04), Jay Ajayi of Boise State (7.10) and T.J. Yeldon of Alabama (7.19).
  • Only five running backs in the previous four NFL combines recorded a better time than McDaniel (Chris Rainey of Florida, 6.50 in 2012; Christine Michael of Texas A&M, 6.69 in 2013; Zac Stacy of Vanderbilt, 6.70 in 2013; Le’Veon Bell of Michigan State, 6.75 in 2013 and Bishop Sankey of Washington, 6.75 in 2014).
  • McDaniel also posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.59 seconds. That time by McDaniel would have ranked as the 12th-fastest 40-yard time by a running back at this year’s NFL Combine.
  • McDaniel’s 60-yard shuttle time of 11.52 seconds would have been the seventh-best by a running back at the NFL Combine.
  • Ben Koyack posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.72 seconds. It would have ranked as the third-fastest 40-yard time by a tight end at this year’s NFL Combine.
  • Koyack’s 40-yard time today was better than four of Mike Mayock’s top-five tight ends’ times at the combine (Maxx Williams, Minnesota; Clive Walford, Miami, Fla.; Blake Bell, Oklahoma and Nick O’Leary, Florida State).
  • Koyack, who measured in at 6-4 7/8 and 257 pounds, did not drop a pass during his position drills.
