Bio

Max Frye joins the Notre Dame Track and Field staff as his first coaching role in the NCAA, working with the sprints, jumps, and multi-event athletes. He previously coached at the Ohio Speed Academy, an Ohio high school track club. During his tenure, Frye worked with 5 state champions across the girls hurdle events, including one of the best high school hurdlers in the country, Camden Bentley.

In 2021, Frye joined the Notre Dame Track and Field roster as a  graduate student while earning a Masters of Science in Management. That year, he ran the 400m hurdles in a time of 50.70 earning first-team All ACC honors and the 3rd fastest time in Notre Dame history. He also competed as the 400m leg on the NCAA runner-up DMR relay. Prior to Notre Dame, Frye competed at Dartmouth College where he was an Ivy League Champion, a multiple-time Academic All-Ivy League student honoree, and served as a two-time captain.
