Yeadon Earns ACC Volleyball Freshman of the Week Honors

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Jemma Yeadon has been selected as the ACC Volleyball Freshman of the Week after leading the team to a 2-0 record over the weekend with straight-set wins over Syracuse and Boston College. Monday’s honor is the first from the ACC in her young career.

The Mercer Island, Washington native led the Irish in kills in both outings this weekend to help the team remain unbeaten in ACC play at 6-0. Yeadon recorded double-doubles in both matches despite playing just three sets in each victory, posting 12 kills and 10 digs at Syracuse followed by 14 kills and 11 digs versus Boston College. In the win over Boston College, the freshman had the most efficient match of her career, hitting .419 off 14 kills on 31 tries with just one error.

On the season Yeadon leads the Irish in kills (170), kills per set (3.04) and double-doubles (6), while also ranking fourth on the squad in aces (18). Through six ACC matches Yeadon ranks sixth in the league in points per set (4.53) eighth in kills per set (3.75) and 10th in aces per set (0.35).

Yeadon and the Irish host No. 8 North Carolina at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 14 in a battle of the final two unbeaten programs in the ACC. Notre Dame then welcomes NC State at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 16.
