As usual, the spotlight will be on head coach Christine Halfpenny and the Fighting Irish this spring.

Women's Lacrosse to Appear on ESPN3 Five Times

Feb. 13, 2015

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Fighting Irish fans around the globe will have several chances to watch the No. 11 Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team in action this spring as the Atlantic Coast Conference recently announced the league’s seasonal broadcast schedule.

Notre Dame’s home conference games against Virginia Tech on March 14, No. 13 Ohio State on March 21 and No. 2 North Carolina on March 29 will all be streamed live on ESPN3 and available globally via WatchESPN. In addition, ACC road contests at No. 8 Duke on March 1 and at No. 3 Syracuse on April 7 will be shown on ESPN3.

Every game of the ACC Tournament will be available to fans either over the airwaves or online. The four quarterfinals from Virginia’s Klockner Stadium on April 23 will be broadcast over regional sports networks in addition to the web streaming. Both of the semifinal games on April 24 and the championship game on April 26 will also air live over regional sports networks.

Three more Notre Dame home contests this spring will be available for Irish fans to watch for free online at WatchND.tv – games vs. Michigan on April 12, No. 5 Northwestern on April 16 and No. 13 Louisville on April 19. All Fighting Irish home games that are played outdoors at Arlotta Stadium (other than the aforementioned trio of ESPN3 games) will be streamed live by WatchND. Unfortunately, technical issues prevent Fighting Irish Digital Media from providing a live video stream of the Detroit game on Feb. 15 or any other home games played indoors at the Loftus Sports Center.

The Irish return 20 monogram winners from the 2014 team rose to a peak of No. 6 in the national polls, eventually earning the eight-seed for the NCAA Championship. The Irish were selected to host the first and second rounds of NCAA competition at Arlotta Stadium. The Irish led the ACC in both ground balls and caused turnovers last spring and return a pair of collegiate All-Americans in sophomore attacker Cortney Fortunato (third team, 2014) and senior defender Barbara Sullivan (first team, 2013).

The 2015 season gets underway for Notre Dame on Friday, Feb. 13, at Cincinnati. For season ticket information, logon to UND.com/BuyTickets or call (574) 631-7356.
