Albrecht Ties For Fourth At Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Fighting Irish women’s golf team placed fifth at the 2018 Bettie Lou Evan Invitational as Notre Dame shot a final round 297 (291-293-297=881) at the University Club of Kentucky’s Big Blue Course (par 72, 5,947 yards).
 
Albrecht led the team throughout the tournament, closing with an even par performance (72) on the final day to conclude the 2018 Bettie Lou Evan Invitational with a three-round total of 213 (70-71-72=213). Her performance placed her in a tie for fourth after finishing as a co-medalist at last year’s event. She birdied three of her final four holes of the day to card the even par round.
 
Maddie Rose Hamilton finished second for the Irish and tied for 29th overall with her three day total of 222 (72-76-74=222). On the third day of competition, Hamilton posted a +2 score, with four birdies, two bogeys and two-double bogeys.
 
Three other Irish golfers finished the three-day event in the top-50. Abby Heck finished with a total of 224 (72-75-77=224), Claire Albrecht finished with 228 (77-74-77=228) and Isabella DiLisio had a three-day total of 229 (82-73-74=229). All three finished with at least one birdie on Sunday and DiLisio has three birdies over her final 12 holes of the day.
 
Mia Ayer competed as an individual at the Invitational, finishing with a three-day tally of 231 (75-79-77=231).
 
The Irish will be back in action October 26-28 as they head to Wilmington, North Carolina for the Landfall Tradition.
