JAMAICA, N.Y. – The Notre Dame women’s volleyball squad got back in the win column with a 15-12, 15-13, 15-10 BIG EAST Conference win over St. John’s on Sunday afternoon.

The Irish (6-8 overall, 3-1 in the BIG EAST) had four hitters end the game with double-figure kill totals. Sophomore Jo Jameyson (Alvin, Texas), senior Lindsay Treadwell (Austin, Texas) and freshman Kristy Kreher had 11 kills apiece to the lead Notre Dame. Jameyson also added three solo blocks, while freshman Malinda Goralski (Missouri City, Texas) had a career-high two solo blocks and seven block assists.

St. John’s was led by Kristy Mercein, who had 18 kills, and Stasha Levi, who had 15 kills. The Irish, however, dominated at the net by outblocking the Red Storm 20-5.

The Irish travel for another three-game road trip next weekend starting Saturday, October 17 at Duke, followed by a Sunday afternoon match on October 18 at North Carolina. Notre Dame will then travel to Gainesville, Fla. for a showdown with ninth-ranked Florida on Wednesday, October 21 at 7 p.m.
