NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s volleyball team won its second-straight game and third consecutive BIG EAST matchup by defeating Boston College 15-5, 15-2, 15-6. The Irish moved to 9-10 overall and 5-1 in the BIG EAST.

Notre Dame sophomore Christi Gordon led the Irish attack with 10 kills on 19 attempts with no errors (.526 hitting). Junior Mary Leffers also hit .462 with eight kills, while freshman Marcie Bomhack added seven. As a team the Irish hit .395 to the Eagles’ -.020 hitting percentage, the lowest of any Notre Dame opponent this year.

Another highlight of the match was the play of Irish setter Michelle Graham. Graham had 31 assists while starting in her first career match with the Irish (Graham spent 1997 at Oregon). Graham got the start after Notre Dame’s regular starting setter Denise Boyan went down with an elbow injury in practice on Saturday. Boylan is expected to be out seven to ten days and will miss next week’s games versusu Oral Roberts (Thursday) and Syracuse (Saturday).
