INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Notre Dame senior Mike Brown finished sixth in the pole vault and junior Jennifer Engelhardt placed 12th in the high jump on the second day of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. Senior Antonio Arce finished 10th in the mile. The women’s team, along with JoAnna Deeter’s sixth-place finish in the 5,000 meters on Friday, finished in 32nd place, while Texas won the title. The men’s team, along with Marshaun West’s sixth-place finish in the long jump on Friday, finished 33rd, while Arkansas won the title.

In his first appearance in the NCAA championship, Brown jumped a school-record 17-10 1/2 to finish in a tie for sixth place. Texas’ Jacob Davis won with a vault of 19- 2 1/4. Arce also made his first appearance in the NCAAs and finished with a time of 4:13.32 in mile run after placing sixth in his heat in 4:04.14.

Engelhardt finished with a jump of 5-8 to finish 12th in her second appearance in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field championships. She jumped 5-8 1/2 as a freshman to finish ninth. Erin Aldrich of Texas won the event with a jump of 6-3 1/2.
