NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team is set to close out its fall season this weekend as a small contingent heads to the Lakewood Ranch Invitational Friday-Sunday at the Lakewood Ranch Country Club in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
Representing Notre Dame at the tournament will be sophomores Britney Sanders (Ontario, Calif.), Julie Sabacinski (Plantation, Fla.) and JoHanna Manningham (Mishawaka, Ind.) along with freshman Katherine White. The four will play in both the singles draw as well as forming two pairings in the doubles draw.
The event is different in that it gives the players a rare chance to play on clay courts, as the preceeding tournaments on the fall docket and the upcoming dual season take place on hard-court surfaces.
