NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team, ranked No. 18 in the country, finished its regular season on Tuesday with a 7-2 win over Indiana. Notre Dame is 16-8 overall and 8-0 in regional play as it heads into the BIG EAST Championship this weekend in Miami. The Irish are the two-time defending champion of the event.

Notre Dame won four of six singles matches against the Hoosiers, including a 7-5, 6-2 win by Jennifer Hall over Correne Stout at No. 1. Hall is ranked No. 22 in the country in singles. The other singles winners on the day for Notre Dame were junior Marisa Velasco at No. 3, senior Tiffany Gates at No. 4 and sophomore Kelly Zalinski at No. 5.

Notre Dame sealed the win by winning all three doubles matches, including an 8-4 win by Hall and Gates at No. 1 doubles over Stout and Kelly Blanch. Freshman Michelle Dasso and Velasco won at No. 2 doubles while senior Kelley Olson and Zalinski won at No. 3.
