NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The 14th-ranked Notre Dame women’s tennis team lost just one set in singles and then swept the doubles to beat 58th-ranked Wisconsin 9-0 on Sunday at the Eck Tennis Pavilion. Sophomore Nina Vaughan held on for a 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 win over Dena Baritot at No. 4 singles to clinch the win for the Irish, who improve to 15-5 with their fourth consecutive win over the Badgers and 32nd consecutive regular-season victory against Midwest Region opponents. Notre Dame returns to action at 64th-ranked Purdue on Wed., April 5 in a 1:00 p.m. match.

Junior All-American and 16th-ranked Michelle Dasso twice won six consecutive games to beat April Gabler 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. In her last four home matches at No. 1 singles, Dasso has lost just three games for a combined game total of 48-3. Sophomore Lindsey Green won the final nine games of her match to give the Irish a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Katie Dougherty at No. 5 singles. Senior Kelly Zalinski beat Shana McElroy 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, and sophomore Becky Varnum beat Vanessa Rauh 6-0, 7-6 at No. 2 singles. Vaughan then won the final five games of her victory to notch the decisive match. Freshman Katie Cunha then defeated Lara Vojnov 6-1, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.

The 24th-ranked team of Dasso and Varnum beat 35th-ranked Gabler and Vojnov 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Green and Zalinski won their 10th straight match to improve to 21-8 with an 8-0 victory over Baritot and McElroy at No. 2 doubles. Cunha and Sarah Scaringe defeated Dougherty and Rauh 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
