Oct. 21, 2010

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame head coach Brian Barnes, who won two national titles as an assistant at Auburn, will take his Irish squad back to Auburn where they will face both the host Tigers and LSU beginning at 3:00 p.m. (CT) Friday afternoon at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center.

Live results will be available at UND.com.

“When we head off to Southeastern Conference territory we get to face two top-20 programs in Auburn and LSU,” Barnes said. “We’re going to show up down there better suited to compete than we were at the Dennis Stark Relays.”

Notre Dame is 0-3 all-time against programs from the Southeastern Conference. The Irish are 0-1 against LSU and will be swimming alongside Auburn for the first time in school history.

Notre Dame outlasted three visiting squads to win the 2010 Dennis Stark Relays in exhibition action earlier this month. Notre Dame earned 200 points while bettering Illinois State (196), Valparaiso (118) and St. Mary’s (112) on the leaderboard. The Irish won 11 of 12 events and fell short of the sweep after a disqualification in the 400 medley relay.
