Notre Dame, Ind. – Notre Dame women’s lacrosse coach Tracy Coyne has announced the 2001 fall exhibition schedule. Included in the schedule are a pair of home games set for October 17th versus Northwestern and Sat. Oct. 20 versus Duquesne with both games to be played at Notre Dame’s Moose Krause Stadium. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.

The Oct. 17 game versus Northwestern kicks off the schedule and will begin at 6:00 p.m. On Sat., Oct. 20, the Irish host Duquesne University in a game that will begin at 9:00 a.m.

On Friday, Oct. 26, Notre Dame travels to Easton, Pa., to face Lafayette in a 7:00 p.m. game. On Sunday, Oct. 28, the Irish will participate in the University of Delaware Tournament in Newark, Del. This tournament brings together teams like the University of Pennsylvania, Yale, Connecticut, Delaware, Monmouth, Notre Dame and Rutgers.

The Irish then close out the fall schedule by facing the U.S. Developmental Team on Sunday, Nov. 4 at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. That contest will begin at 10:00 a.m.

“The fall schedule is important for us because it gives us a chance to give our younger players game experience as we prepare for the spring and BIG EAST schedule,” says Coyne. “We’ll be playing good competition both home and away. Our final fall game is extra special since its against the United States’ Developmental Team which will feature one of our top players, Kathryn Lam, who is the first Notre Dame lacrosse player to make that team.”

Notre Dame is coming off a 10-5 season in the spring of 2001 and the Irish were 4-2 in BIG EAST play.
