NEW YORK, N.Y. —— The Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team closed out its 1998 season with an 18-9 loss to Harvard as the Irish finish their second year of varsity competition with a 7-6 record.

Notre Dame fell behind 6-0 to start the game and trailed 9-3 at the half. The Crimson, who improved their record to 4-7, outshot Notre Dame 45-21 in the game.

Freshman Courtney Calabrese led Notre Dame with six goals in the contest and Kerry Callahan scored twice.

Allie Harper had four goals and an assist in the game for Harvard, while Honor MacNaughton added three goals and an assist.

Carrie Marshall made 13 saves for the Irish in goal.
