Women's Lacrosse Announces 2003 Spring Schedule

Jan. 13, 2003

Notre Dame, Ind. –

Notre Dame women’s lacrosse coach Tracy Coyne has announced the 2003 women’s lacrosse schedule for the upcoming spring season.

The Irish will open the regular season on Sunday, March 2 with a visit to Ithaca, N.Y., where they will face Cornell in a 1:00 p.m. game. That will be the first of six straight games on the road for the Irish before the home opener versus Ohio State on Tuesday, March 25 at 4:00 p.m. That game at Moose Krause Stadium is a rematch of last spring’s first round NCAA game won by the Irish by an 11-7 margin.

In all, Notre Dame will play seven of its first eight games on the road before closing with six of its last eight games at home.

The Irish will host BIG EAST foes Connecticut (4/5), Georgetown (4/19) and Rutgers (4/27) while playing Boston College, Virginia Tech and Syracuse on the road.

Notre Dame will face seven teams that finished the 2002 season ranked nationally. That list includes Georgetown, Cornell, Duke, Vanderbilt, Yale, Ohio State and Syracuse.
