NOTRE DAME, Ind. – For the second week in a row, freshman Dore DeBartolo (Aurora, Ill.) was the lone event winner for the Notre Dame women’s track and field team. DeBartolo won the 35-pound weight throw event with a mark of 51-3/4 at the non-team scoring Red Simmons Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., Saturday.

The Irish also got four second-place finishes from freshman Natalie Hallett (Huntington Beach, Calif.) in the pole vault, DeBartolo in the shot put, junior Jennifer Engelhardt (Battle Creek, Mich.) in the high jump and freshman Liz Grow (New Braunfels, Texas) in the 200-meter dash. It was the second, runner-up finishes in as many weeks for both Grow and Engelhardt, who cleared 5-8 at this Saturday’s meet.

The Notre Dame women’s track and field team will host Indiana next Friday, January 29 at the Meyo indoor track, with throwing events beginning at 6 p.m..
