BRATISLAVA, Slovakia — Notre Dame center Julie Henderson (Ann Arbor, Mich.) was the leading scorer for the BIG EAST/Nike Women’s Basketball All-Star, netting 14 points, as the all-stars won their first game with an 87-75 victory over Lokomotiva Istrobanka Bratislava. The previous night, the squad dropped an 64-55 decision to the Australian National Team.

Henderson also grabbed six rebounds in the contest. Four other all-stars were in double figures. Connecticut’s Kelly Schumacher recorded a double-double scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Seton Hall’s Starr Fuller added 12 points and five rebounds, while Georgetown’s Sylita Thomas chipped in 11 points and grabbed six boards.

Mishawaka’s Jenea Skeeters, who plays at Villanova, is also a member of the team. She scored three points and grabbed three rebounds in the outing.

The all-stars will play again on Tuesday, June 2 when they face Slovan Bratislava BBC.
