Women's Golf To Host The William K. Warren Irish Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s golf team will play host to the William K. Warren Irish Invitational Sat., Oct. 2 and Sun., Oct. 3. The two-day tournament, which features two rounds of play on Saturday and the final 18 holes on Sunday, will be held at the Warren Golf Course, a par-72 course that stands at 6,079 yards in length.

Competing this weekend for the seventh ranked (according to the Golfstat 9.29.10 rankings) Irish will be senior So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/Bradenton (Fla) Prepatory Academy) as well as juniors Katie Allare (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep.) and Becca Huffer (Denver, Colo./Littleton). Rounding out the team line-up are Nicole Zhang (Calgary, Alberta/Bishop Carroll), number one ranked golfer (Golfstat) and Kristina Nhim (Cypress, Calif.,Cypress). Senior Katie Conway (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) will compete individually for the Irish at the tournament.

The William K. Warren Irish Invitational will highlight 13 teams, including 13th ranked Ohio State (Golfstat) and fourth ranked golfer from Ohio State, Rachel Rohanna (Golfstat). The contest begins with a shotgun start Saturday morning at 9 a.m. There will be live stats available at http://www.golfstatresults.com with a full recap at www.und.com.

THE COMPETITION: The 12 competing teams at the William K. Warren Irish Invitational are Cincinnati, Georgia State, Illinois, Indiana, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Toledo and University of Texas-San Antonio.

FORMAT: Each team’s lineup will be comprised of five golfers with the lowest four scores for each round counting towards the overall team score. The tournament consists of 54 holes, featuring 36 holes (rounds one and two) of play on Saturday before the final 18 holes tee off on Sunday. Both days of play feature 9:00 a.m. start times.
