Women's Golf Moves Into 13th Place at Northrop Grumman

PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The Notre Dame women’s golf team finds itself in 13th place after two rounds of play at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. The Irish took nine strokes off of their first round score, as they shot a plus-37 (321) in the second round.

For the second straight day, Arizona State leads the 16-team field, as the Sun Devils boast a +31 (599) through two rounds of play. The Irish, along with Denver, Florida and Stanford, were one of only four teams to move up the leader board on the second day of play. Arizona State’s Juliana Murcia’s sits atop the individual leader board with a minus-one (141) score.

Notre Dame’s sophomore All-American So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/Bradenton Prep) moved 10-spots up the leader board into tie for 17th-place. She carded a plus five (76), including birdies at the fifth (for the second consecutive day), the 12th and the 15th. Through two rounds, she is plus-14 (80-76-156).

Freshman Becca Huffer (Denver, Colo./Littleton HS) shot a plus seven (78) in her second round, putting her in a 39th-place tie with a score of plus-18 (82-78-160). In the second round, she notched 13 pars.

Junior Annie Brophy (Spoakne, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) shot a plus-12 (83) in the second round that included five pars and a birdie on the 12th. After two rounds, she is plus-26 (83-85-168).

Katie Conway (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) shot a plus-13 (84) putting her at plus-29 (87-84-171) for the tournament. It marked her first round counted towards the team score of the spring season.

Senior captain Lisa Maunu (St. Thomas, Ontario/Parkside Collegiate Institute) registered a plus-14 (85) in round two, including six pars and a birdie on the seventh. She is tied with Brophy with a plus-29 mark through two rounds of play (83-85-168).
