WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Irish finished their first round of play at the Landfall Tradition tournament carding a 299 (+11) and tying for fifth place with the University of South Carolina at the Dye Golf Course in Wilmington, N.C. Notre Dame is led by junior Becca Huffer (Denver, Colo./Littleton) who posted a par-even 72 and finished out the first round with three birdies.

Duke and the University of Texas are tied in first, carding a 291. The Blue Devils and the Longhorns are followed by North Carolina (293) and UCLA (294).

Duke’s Kim Donovan finished two strokes under par (70), and both Duke’s Aleja Cangrejo and Texas’ Haley Stephens rounded out posting one shot under par (71).

Both Nicole Zhang (Calgary, Alberta/Bishop Carroll) and Kristina Nhim (Cypress Cali./Cypress) shot three over par in the first round, recording a 75. They are currently tied at 27th entering the second round.

Seniors So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/Bradenton Preparatory Academy) shot five over par (77) landing her tied at 44th, and Katie Conway (Wading River, NY/Shoreham-Wading River) posted an 85 and is tied at 85th.
