NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s basketball team once again will be thrusted into the national spotlight, with ESPN televising two major Irish rivalries for the upcoming 2017-18 season.

The first ESPN broadcast features Notre Dame’s trip to UConn on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. ET while the second will witness Tennessee returning to the Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. ET.

The Irish have thrived in the national spotlight, achieving a combined record of 70-14 over the past seven years on the ESPN family of networks (ESPN, ESPN2 & ESPNU). In addition, the announcement marks Notre Dame’s first regular season game broadcasted on ESPN since its last trip to UConn on Dec. 5, 2015.

Notre Dame and UConn have squared off 14 times since the 2011 Final Four in Indianapolis and have an even 7-7 record split to show for it. Meanwhile, the Irish have clashed with Tennessee for eight consecutive years and have won six of the past seven matchups.
