WHME-TV To Televise Notre Dame- Alaska Fairbanks Game

Notre Dame, Ind. – Notre Dame hockey fans will be able to catch the Fighting Irish hockey team live on WHME-TV (channel 46) on Friday, January 30th, when they face off in a Central Collegiate Hockey Association game at the versus the Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks. Face-off at the Joyce Center is set for 7:35 p.m.

The game will also be telecast live on KFXF Fox 7 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Nanook broadcasters Bruce Cech and Scott Roselius will handle the play-by-play and color commentary.

Alaska Fairbanks comes into this weekend’s series with a 12-12-0 overall record and an 11-9-0 record in the CCHA. That puts the Nanooks in fourth place in the CCHA playoff race. UAF split a series with Bowling Green last weekend in Fairbanks, losing 5-3 to the Falcons before beating them 3-2 on Saturday.

Notre Dame comes into the game with a 12-9-3 overall record and an 8-8-2 record in CCHA play. The 18 points in the league puts the Irish in eighth place overall, four points behind fourth-place Alaska Fairbanks and just six points behind first-place Miami (OH). Notre Dame is 7-1-1 at home this season and will look to get back on the winning track after losing a pair of games at Northern Michigan last weekend.

The two teams will also be in action on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Joyce Center. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
