Westbeld Earns Two Ohio Player of the Year Honors

CHICAGO – On March 6, the Gatorade company announced future Irish women’s basketball player Madeline Westbeld of Kettering Fairmont High School as its 2019-20 Gatorade Ohio Girls Basketball Player of the Year. Westbeld is the first Gatorade Ohio Girls Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Kettering Fairmont High School.

The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Westbeld as Ohio’s best high school girls basketball player. In addition, she is now a finalist for the Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year award to be announced later in March.
