The Notre Dame baseball team’s weekend schedule has been adjusted, due to travel issues with the Nebraska team getting to the Orlando area. The Irish still will face the host team tonight at the Stetson Invtiational (7:00) but Notre Dame now will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 3, versus Iowa at noon and Nebraska at 4:00. The Irish – whose many early-season challenges now will include playing three games in a span of 24 hours (during which time the other three teams each will play only once) -will not have a game on Sunday, March 4 and will attempt to make an earlier return to campus.

Junior righthander Joey Williamson still will start versus Stetson while his classmate Wade Korpi (LHP) now becomes the probable starter against Iowa and sophomore RHP David Phelps is stenciled in for the biggest start of his young college career, vs. Nebraska.

If Nebraska ultimately is unable to travel to Orlando, Notre Dame and Iowa then would play single games on Saturday and Sunday (likely at noon each day). As of Friday morning, Nebraska still had yet to depart for the tournament.

Live GameTracker stats for all three Notre Dame games will be available on und.com, as a bonus offering for Irish baseball fans (GT links will be added later today). Radio broadcasts of each game still will air live in the South Bend area, the first two on ESPN 1490 AM while the ND-Nebraska game will switch to 1620 (in order to avoid a likely overlap with the ND-DePaul women’s basketball game). Fans also can keep track of each game via the Irish ALERT text-message service and the ND Sports Hotline.

Other games in the re-worked Stetson Invitational schedule now include Iowa vs. Stetson on Saturday night (8:00 p.m.), Nebraska vs. Iowa on Sunday at noon and Nebraska vs. Stetson on Monday, March 5 (time TBA).

The updated tournament schedule is as follows:

4:00 – Nebraska vs. Notre Dame
