Warren Golf Course Makes Appearance On Golf Channel's Morning Drive

Feb. 27, 2013

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Warren Golf Course at the University of Notre Dame was recently mentioned on the Golf Channel’s Morning Drive as part of a segment featuring the best value golf courses in the United States.

The Golf Channel’s travel insider Matt Ginella compiled a list of 50 courses that are considered a “value” course based on the assessment of history, design, condition, service, fun factor, charm and cost relative to other courses in the area.

“It is an honor to be recognized nationally by the Golf Channel,” says Warren Golf Course general manager John Foster. “We have always felt that the Warren Course was a great value given the course design, the meticulous conditioning and high level of guest services we provide. It is nice to hear that the people at Golf Channel feel the same way.”

Ginella considers Warren Golf Course a course that he could play “everyday for a lifetime,” which makes the course an affordable option without sacrificing a quality experience.

The Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame was designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. The two men possess an impressive resume of designing courses all over the world including Golf du Medoc “The Chateaux Course” (Le Pian Medoc Bordeaux, France), Country Club of Montreal (Montreal, Canada) and Lost Farm at Barnbougle Dunes (Bridport, Tasmania Australia).

Since its opening in 2000, the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame has hosted numerous high profile events that most recently include the 2012 United States Men’s Amateur Championships, the 2011 NCAA Division I Women’s Regional Championship and the Men’s U.S. Open Qualifier in 2010.

Adding to the courses list of honors, Warren Golf Course has also been named one of Golf Magazine’s top-30 campus courses in each of the last three years.
