NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Fighting Irish fans now have the chance to cast their vote for Patrick Hodan for the 2014 MAC Hermann Trophy. Fan voting is open until 5 p.m. (ET) on Dec. 10.

Hodan, a junior midfielder on the University of Notre Dame men’s soccer team, on Tuesday was named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, which is the highest individual intercollegiate award administered by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), and presented annually at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. This year’s trophy presentation and banquet will take place Friday, Jan. 9.

From the list of 16 semifinalists, three finalists will be chosen in mid-December. NCAA Division I coaches who are NSCAA College Services members will get to cast their vote and the player that receives the most nods from the fan vote will receive an additional vote for the MAC Hermann Trophy.

Hodan (Brookfield, Wis.) already has accumulated several accolades for his outstanding junior campaign. He was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year along with appearing on the All-ACC First Team. Last week, he garnered first team Academic All-America honors. That was his second Academic All-America citation.

Hodan led Notre Dame in goals (9) and points (21) during the 2014 season. He has tallied 65 points on 26 goals and 13 assists in 65 career games. Hodan also has 10 game-winning goals during his career, including five this season.
