NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame volleyball team is set for quite an adventure as the Irish leave Sunday evening for an 11-day European trip that will take them to four countries and match them up with three formidable exhibition opponents.
The Irish will fly from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport Sunday night and land in Prague, Czech Republic Monday evening with London’s Heathrow Airport offering a four hour layover.
While overseas, the team will find itself in Prague, Czech Republic; Vienna, Austria; Maribor, Slovenia; Venice, Italy; Lake Como, Italy; and Milan, Italy.
Notre Dame will meet the Olymp Praha club team in Prague, the Slovenian National Team in Maribor and the Italian Federation Team in Milan. The Irish will play each team twice.
Twenty-two people are making the trip including 12 student-athletes.
