Irish Ready To Host Syracuse & Boston College

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Notre Dame returns home this weekend to take on ACC foes Syracuse and Boston College. The Irish face the Orange on Friday (Oct. 26) at 7p.m. in their annual Block Out Cancer Match before closing the weekend against the Eagles on Sunday (Oct. 28) at 1 p.m. Both matches are slated to be streamed via ACC Network Extra.

BLOCK OUT CANCER
The Notre Dame volleyball team is set to host its 12th annual Block Out Cancer match on Friday (Oct. 26) at 7 p.m. against Syracuse. There will be a silent auction and Block Out Cancer shirts for sale during the match with proceeds going to the St. Joseph Health System and its Foundation for Cancer Research. The silent auction and Block Out Cancer shirt sales will be located on the upper concourse of Gate 9 by the concession stand. SERIES HISTORY VS. SYRACUSE
The Irish and Orange will meet Friday for the 32nd time with Notre Dame holding a 23-8 advantage in the all-time series. The Irish have won two of the last three meetings against the Orange, including a 3-1 victory the last time the two sides played at Purcell on November 25, 2016.

SERIES HISTORY VS. BOSTON COLLEGE
Notre Dame and Boston College are meeting for the 22nd time on Sunday. The Irish has won 17 of those matches against the Eagles, including three straight victories dating back to October 9, 2016. Last season, the Irish went on the road and swept the Eagles on November 24, 2017.

1,000-KILL CLUB
After tying her season high with 18 kills last Sunday against Virginia, junior Jemma Yeadon became the 23rd player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills. Yeadon, who notched her 1,000th kill in the third set, recorded the final kill of the match to seal the fourth set win and 3-1 victory over the Cavaliers. The Mercer Island, Washington, native has now hit double digit kills in 13 matches this year.
