Volleyball Adds Lauren Plum to Coaching Staff

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Head Coach Salima Rockwell has announced the addition of Lauren Plum to her staff as the volunteer assistant coach for the 2022 season. Plum joins the staff after playing her collegiate career at the University of Oregon, and spent six years playing overseas.

“We are so excited to welcome our new volunteer, Lauren Plum to the Irish Volleyball family!” Rockwell said, “She is one of the all-time great setters in the NCAA and internationally and we are beyond lucky to have her here at Notre Dame. Lauren was not only a phenomenal player, but she is an excellent coach that has an amazing way of communicating with her players and a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. We can’t wait for her to arrive on campus to help make our young women better and bring new and fresh ideas to our staff. Welcome to the family, Lauren!”

Plum joins the Irish after spending time as an assistant coach at the University of Arizona and Villanova. Before entering the college coaching ranks, she played from 2014-2020 in France, Germany and Puerto Rico.

During her collegiate career, Plum played at Oregon from 2010-2014, earning American Volleyball Coaches Association’s (AVCA) and Volleyball Magazine All-America honors twice She was the 2012 PAC-12 Setter of the Year and led Oregon to the 2012 National Championship match before falling to National Champion Texas.

Plum’s name is scattered through the Oregon record books, holding the record for assists in a single match (75), and assists in a season (1,618). She ranks first in career assists at Oregon (5,213) and assists per set while ranking sixth in career service aces. She was chosen as a member of the PAC-12 All-Star Team that competed against China in 2013.

She graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in sports marketing.
