Voelz Qualifies For 800m Final With PR Performance

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After an action packed opening day of the NCAA Championships on Thursday the Irish just had one athlete compete on day two of the meet, as Samuel Voelz raced in the 800m prelims.

The senior turned in the best performance of his career, crossing the finish line second with a time of 1:47.82, the best of his career. Voelz qualifies second overall and will race in the finals on Saturday at 3:40 p.m. ET. The time of 1:47.82 is tied for the second fastest time in program history for the event.

The Irish wrap up the NCAA Championships on Saturday on the third and final day of the meet. Voelz runs the 800m final at 3:40 p.m. ET and Olivia Markezich caps off the day with the 3,000m run at 8 p.m. ET.
