Und.com To Unveil Redesigned Home Page On Monday, Aug. 6

Aug. 2, 2007

The University of Notre Dame Athletics Department will unveil a redesign of its official website, und.com, on Monday, Aug. 6 – coinciding with the start of preseason practice and Media Day for the Fighting Irish Football Team. Irish fans will be able to listen and watch Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis’ press conference on Monday, Aug. 6, at 12:00 p.m. ET.

The new design will offer immediate front-page access to Fighting Irish All-Access, Notre Dame’s broadband channel that features coverage of all 26 varsity sports. Site visitors will be able to toggle quickly between the headline view (offering updated editorial content), video view (on-demand video offerings) and live events (one-click access to live video and audio coverage).

Fighting Irish All-Access will once again offer the best on-line coverage of Notre Dame football in 2007. Daily practice reports, full post-game coverage, highlight packages, series reviews and compelling interviews will return in force for the 2007 season. As always, und.com is the only online destination where you can see and hear every comment from head coach Charlie Weis throughout the year.

The Official und.com Pre Game Show will return in 2007, featuring former Irish All-Americans Reggie Brooks and Mirko Jurkovic. The show is posted on Thursday of each football game week of the season and is hosted by und.com’s Jack Nolan. Brooks, Jurkovic and Nolan provide a complete breakdown of the upcoming opponent, enough to prepare any Irish for the contest. The same team returns to the airwaves after the Irish games as well. For home games, you can both listen and watch the Official Notre Dame Football Post Game Show, while the post game show is offered via audio coverage for Irish away games.

Fighting Irish All-Access also is ramping up its live event coverage this season. Not only will Irish fans be able to watch every football pep rally and kickoff luncheon during the fall, but coverage also is planned to include women’s soccer, men’s soccer and volleyball during the fall.

Once basketball and hockey season arrives, Fighting Irish All-Access will be there for Notre Dame fans as well. There will be expanded men’s basketball coverage, to include every non-conference basketball home game not already selected by a television network. For women’s basketball and hockey, every home game not picked up by television will be streamed live on und.com.

All of this enhanced coverage initiated by the und.com production crew is offered free of charge – and there are no plans to charge for any of these features in the future. CSTV, Notre Dame’s online partner, is also constantly working to improve the All-Access package, with Macintosh compatibility, easier video access and increased Podcast availability coming in the near future.
