NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The official University of Notre Dame athletics web site, www.UND.com, has unveiled a special page devoted to keeping fans informed about the ongoing construction of the new Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. This new web page, which can be found at www.UND.com/purcell, contains numerous artist renderings (photo and video) of the facility, as well as a photo gallery that is being updated weekly with new pictures from both outside and inside the arena.

In addition, the Purcell Pavilion web page offers a link to the tentative seating diagram for the building, along with links to updated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about the reseating process for the 2009-10 men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

The $26.3 million project began last September with the start of construction on the new Purcell Pavilion, to be located on the south edge of the Joyce Center’s south dome. On May 19, 2009, the Joyce Center main arena was closed to begin an intensive six-month renovation of the facility’s interior, including replacement of the existing arena seating and installation of chair-back seating throughout the arena. The entire project is scheduled for completion in January 2010.
