Two Fighting Irish Recruits Named Under Armour All-Americans

May 31, 2006

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Two Notre Dame men’s lacrosse recruits have been selected as 2006 Under Armour All-Americans. Matt Ciambella (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and Will Yeatman (Rancho Bernardo, Calif.) will compete in the inaugural Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic game, to be held at Towson University in Baltimore, Md. on June 18 and televised live on ESPNU at 7:00 p.m. (ET).

The list of All-Americans features the 46 very best lacrosse players in the United States. A committee spent this spring narrowing down a field of hundreds to find the best of the best for the All-America team. The All-Americans selected have been divided into North and South rosters to compete in the event.

Ciambella, an attackman, hails from New York powerhouse Orchard Park. He was named first-team All-WNY and also participated in the STX Blue Chip Camp, along with being named an Inside Lacrosse `Young Gun’. Ciambella played on the Western Empire Team for two seasons and was part of a bronze medal-winning squad in 2005.

Yeatman is a standout attackman at Rancho Bernardo High School in California. He will attend Notre Dame on a football scholarship, along with playing lacrosse, as he is an accomplished tight end. In lacrosse, he is a big and powerful player with good speed and agility, which makes him a tough match-up. Yeatman was a 2005 US Lacrosse Boys High School All-American and was also named an Inside Lacrosse `Young Gun’.

The Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic is the first-ever high school level lacrosse game to be aired live nationally. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster at 410-547-SEAT.
