NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Marissa Treece, a freshman on the Notre Dame women’s cross country team, will compete at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships Junior Women’s race in Edinburgh, Scotland on Sunday, March 30. She will participate as part of the six-person USA Junior Women’s 19-under team.

Treece, a native of Maple City, Mich., earned a spot on the national squad after finishing fourth at the USA Cross Country Championships Junior Women’s race on February 16 in San Diego, Calif.

Notre Dame graduate Molly Huddle will join Treece at the international competition. Huddle, who was fifth in the Senior Women’s race at the USA Cross Country Championships, was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer at both the 2006 and 2007 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships during her collegiate career and in doing so became just the third woman in league history to repeat the honor.

Complete race results and further coverage can be found at iaaf.org (International Association of Athletics Federation) and usatf.org (USA Track & Field).
