The Travel Channel is presenting a 2-night special May entitled “Cool Camps”, and one of the features will be a segment on the Notre Dame Football Fantasy Camp. The Cool Camps broadcast will air on Thursday, May 24 at 9:00 p.m. (EDT).

Last summer when the 4th Fantasy Camp was in session, a full crew was on campus capturing much of the action of the Camp, including a producer, director, various camera operators, sound technicians and assistants. They followed the 59 participants as they went through all the elements of the event, highlighted by the four practice sessions and Fantasy Game in Notre Dame Stadium. Now, all of America and the world where Travel Channel has distribution will be able to see these Irish fans turned players go through what has quickly become a new tradition at Notre Dame.

There will be a number of other adult lifestyle camps included in the overall program, and the production people have expressed their excitement about the ND Camp segment, noting “the passion and excitement demonstrated by all who were there–they simply love Notre Dame and love Football!”

One of the players who was interviewed for the program, Keith Cross, age 33 from Holden, Mass. commented about having all the cameras around camp.

This coverage by The Travel Channel follows up the highly popular program done in year one of the Fantasy Camp by The Fine Living Network, which continues to air on different venues. For a number of months it was shown on Delta Air Lines in-flight video, drawing hundreds of emails from interested fans, many of whom have since attended the camp personally.

Due to the level of interest and demand there will be two ND Football Fantasy Camp sessions this summer, June 27-July 1 and July 1-5. The entire Irish football coaching staff will be helping coach the Camp, with Head Coach Charlie Weis addressing both groups and discussing the upcoming 2007 season. There are still limited spots available in both sessions, with registration closing May 1.
