Notre Dame, Ind. – Former Irish basketball player Tom Timmermans, a 2004 Notre Dame graduate, has been named coordinator of compliance information for the Athletic Department.

In his four years as a member of the Irish, Timmermans played in 92 games and started in 27 of those contests while averaging 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game for his career. During his freshman season (2000-01), the Irish won the BIG EAST West Division title in ’01 and played on three NCAA tournament teams, including the 2002-03 squad that advanced to the ’03 Sweet 16. As a senior, he served one of four captains on the 2003-04 team.

Prior to returning to the University, Timmermans spent three years playing basketball on the international level. Most recently, he was a member of the Lausanne Morges Basketball team in Switzerland, and prior to that, played for the MPC Capitals in the Netherlands from 2004-06.

Timmermans received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Mendoza College of Business.
