Timuquane Collegiate Preview

Tournament takes place Jan. 25-26

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Notre Dame men’s golf team ends its Florida stay with the 2021 Timuquana Collegiate. The two-day tournament takes place Jan. 25-26 at the Timuquana Country Club. The event is being co-hosted by North Florida and Jacksonville. 

THE TOURNAMENT LOWDOWN

The Irish will play two rounds on Monday before playing the final round on Tuesday. The live scoring for the event can be found at Golfstat.com.

Notre Dame will look to best the following 10 teams: Florida, Florida State, UCF, USF, Jacksonville, Virginia, Purdue, Oklahoma State, Liberty and North Florida. 

THE LINEUP

Notre Dame will be rolling with the same lineup as its season opener a week ago: Davis Chatfield, Palmer Jackson, Tucker Clark, Taichi Kho and Andrew O’Leary. In addition, freshmen Angelo Marcon and Stewart Slayden will be competing as individuals. 

Newcomer Tucker Clark was a bright spot at the Seminole Invitational, notching his first top-20 finish in his debut. Clark shot a 217, one-over-par. 

O’Leary and Jackson finished within the top-25, carding a 218 and 219, respectively. O’Leary finished the event strong with a final round 69 (-3). Speaking of which, Chatfield built some momentum heading into this tournament by firing off a final round 67 (-5) – the lowest of any Irish player last week. 

Lastly, the Timuquana Collegiate will mark the official Irish debut of Slayden.
