GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Payton Tidd was named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Pitcher of the Week, along with Boston College’s Susannah Anderson. This is Tidd’s third time earning ACC Pitcher of the Week award, and her first since her freshman season in 2019. This award is Notre Dame’s second weekly award of the 2022 season, joining Karina Gaskins who won the league’s Player of the Week award earlier this season.
Tidd started two games last week, earning the win in both. She started the week with a complete game victory over No. 6 Northwestern at Melissa Cook Stadium. Against the Wildcats, she threw 7.0 innings, scattering five hits and allowing just two earned runs. She struck out five without allowing a walk in the victory.
Her second start of the week came in the opener at Syracuse as she worked 6.0 innings. She totaled five strikeouts in the win, scattering four hits, two runs and one earned. Tidd helped herself with run support against the Orange, hitting a solo homer in the 5-2 win.
