NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Tickets are on sale for the 2009 Notre Dame Women’s Basketball Awards Banquet, scheduled for Tuesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. (ET) on the main floor at the Joyce Center. Admission is $25 per person for the event, which will begin at 6 p.m. (ET) with an autograph session featuring all Fighting Irish players and coaches (limit of one autographed item per person). At 7 p.m. (ET), the main program will get underway, with the “Voice of the Fighting Irish” Bob Nagle handling the emcee duties once again this year. The team will present its annual year-end awards, while head coach Muffet McGraw and other honored guests will offer their thoughts on the 2008-09 season.

Notre Dame recently completed a 22-9 campaign, tying for fourth place in the BIG EAST Conference with a 10-6 record. The Fighting Irish, who were ranked in the top 25 of both major polls throughout the season, also earned their 14th consecutive NCAA Championship appearance (and 16th overall) and registered their 15th 20-win season in the past 16 years. Notre Dame will bring back all 12 players (including all five starters) from the ’08-09 squad, while adding a pair of highly-regarded freshmen for the 2009-10 season.
