Head coach Muffet McGraw is set to begin her 23rd season at Notre Dame this fall, having piloted the Fighting Irish to a 496-197 record and 16 NCAA Championship berths (including a current string of 14 in a row) during her storied career.

Tickets On Sale For 2009 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Games At Notre Dame

Sept. 16, 2008

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Ticket sales remain brisk for the 2009 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship first- and second-round games that will be played at Notre Dame’s Joyce Center on March 22 and 24, 2009. In fact, more than 2,000 full-session ticket packages (all three games) already have been sold to Irish women’s basketball season ticket holders, with fans also taking advantage of the University’s Early Bird Special, which offers a $5 discount per ticket on each package purchased through the end of September.

“We are thrilled with the early response we’ve gotten regarding this year’s NCAA tournament games at the Joyce Center,” Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw said. “Every time the Joyce Center is loud and rocking with the best basketball fans in the country, we have a home court advantage that’s second to none.

“I hope everyone in the Michiana area will circle next March on their calendars,” she added. “We’re going to need each of you to come out and support the Irish as we go after another magical Final Four trip to St. Louis just like the one we had in 2001 when we won the national championship!”

The Early Bird Special NCAA Tournament package includes admission in the lower seating bowl of the arena to each of the three tournament games to be played at the Joyce Center (two on Sunday, March 22, and one on Tuesday, March 24) at a total cost of $27 for adults (just $9 per game) and $17 for youths (less than $6 per game). This offer will continue through Sept. 30, before regular NCAA tournament ticket prices take effect ($32 for adults, $22 for youths).

Tickets for the NCAA tournament games at the Joyce Center, as well as 2008-09 Notre Dame women’s basketball season tickets, can be purchased through the Irish Athletics Ticket Office by stopping by the second floor ticket windows at the Joyce Center (enter via Gate 1) by calling (574) 631-7356 during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. ET), or by going on-line to the official Notre Dame athletics web site (www.UND.com) and clicking here.

In addition, Notre Dame has developed a special web page devoted exclusively to the 2009 NCAA Tournament games at the Joyce Center. It can be viewed by clicking here.

Single-game tickets for the ’08-’09 Irish women’s basketball season will go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 7, at which time any non-renewed season ticket locations from last year also will be released to the general public.
